Alluvial meadow | Solutions where there are not a permanent water surface, but water gathers in the areas during heavy rainfalls and when the snow melts in spring. |
Catchment area | The catchment area includes all the land area that drains rainfall into rivers, streams, basins or other reservoir. Usually a large catchment area is often made up of a number of smaller catchments called sub-catchments. |
Nature-based solution (NBS) | NBS are multifunctional and cost-effective measures that address societal challenges by protecting, developing or creating ecosystems while promoting biodiversity and human wellbeing. |
Stormwater | Run off water from land generated by rainfall or melting snow. |
